Okay, reporting live from the Bund — I found an immersive theatre restaurant you can actually eat at!
TASTE OF China Immersive Dining is seriously not your average restaurant. It’s a time-traveling, tastebud-touring experience that takes you across China through flavor 🌍
🐼 Chef Bao Bao (the cutest panda!) is the star
The whole meal is structured around his storytelling — 7 dishes, 7 regional themes
From north to south, east to west: Beijing duck, Guizhou sour fish soup, Sichuan mapo tofu…
Each dish is paired with tea and a cultural narrative. It felt like a delicious history lesson!
🚀 Tech and aesthetics on another level
Projections cover the tables and walls — the scene changes with every course
Eating sour fish soup? Your table becomes a starry lotus pond where you can “catch” AR fish 🐟
Sweet rice balls? The whole galaxy drops into your bowl. My inner child totally freaked out!
I was too busy taking photos to even eat 📸
🎎 Costume upgrade highly recommended!
Hundreds of outfits: Tang, Song, Ming, Han, Miao, Tibetan, Republican-era…
Eating imperial-style cuisine in Hanfu = next-level ceremony ✨
So many photo spots: entrance 3D wall, vintage bar, projection screens… Every shot is Instagram gold!
📌 Practical tips:
▪️ Book mid or front row — better view, deeper immersion
▪️ Arrive early! Costume + styling takes at least 1 hour
📍 Location: The Old Municipal Hall, Bund
💵 Price: Dinner ¥888–¥1088 per person
Perfect for anniversaries, dates, business dinners, or taking your parents
I’d 100% go again… because who can resist a storytelling panda? 😭🐼
