Century Park is truly a treasure spot for kids in Shanghai! People from Songjiang are so jealous. The toy exhibition just ended today, so I went there and really fell in love with this park. I walked over 10,000 steps! With a huge lawn, free playground, and beautiful autumn scenery, you can spend the whole day here alone or with kids. Here’s a nanny-level guide for you 👇

🚪 Gate-by-Gate Kid Guide
▪️ Gate 1: Big Lawn Camping + Boating
The big lawn at Jingtian Lake is perfect for pitching tents and picnics. Bring kites and bubble machines; kayaks are 99 RMB/hour, seating 2 adults and 2 kids. The lake view is super soothing.
▪️ Gate 2: Paid Playground Fun (see pics 5️⃣-6️⃣)
The playground got a new look at the end of September, great for photos. Carousel, bumper cars, mini train, roller coaster… 15-30 RMB per person. Kids won’t want to leave and want to try every ride. If you don’t want to spend money, don’t bring your kids here, haha. Don’t ask me why.
▪️ Gate 3: Farm + Pigeon Feeding
At the Tonggeng Farm, you can fish, grind soy milk, and plant vegetables. Pigeon feed is 5 RMB per bag. A flock of pigeons flies around the kids, a mix of fear and joy, super fun.
▪️ Gate 5: Kerry City Free Playground
Near Kerry City, there are several non-powered children’s playgrounds nearby with slides and climbing frames, all free. Kids can play wildly without spending a dime.
▪️ Gate 7: Sand Digging + Fish Catching + Popular Mini Train
⌛ Children’s sand playground + fish pond with fine soft sand and small fish (bring a fish net). There’s a hand-washing station nearby for easy cleanup.
🚂 The popular Time Travel mini train is 30 RMB for 2 laps, located just to the left of the sand area.
💡 Tips:
Bring a stroller; the park is huge, and kids can lie down if tired.
The pink muhly grass area is fenced off; you can only take photos outside, no entering the grass.
Remember to bring sand digging tools, fish nets, and a change of clothes when bringing kids.
The park has food and convenience stores, or you can go to Kerry City Pudong nearby for more options; it’s very close to Gate 5.
The full park guide map is in picture 18.
