Located in Shangri-La, Shanghu Jump Gorge is known as one of the most spectacular canyons in China. Tiger Leaping Gorge is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle and Lower. The Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is the easiest to reach and the most stunning scenery.

Recommended tour routes:
It is recommended to leave early in the morning and drive from downtown Shangri-La or join a one-day tour, which takes about 1.5 hours. Entering from the entrance to the scenic area, the walk along the canyon features trails and observation decks, the whole round trip takes about 1-2 hours. The most noteworthy locations are the "Tiger Jumping Stone" - the boulder where the tiger is said to have jumped across the river; the "One Line of Sky" - the narrowest point of the canyon, feel how the river roars.

1. Canyon Trail Tour: Feel the canyon wall at your feet and the surge of the river on the other side, the stone steps and cliff canyons along the way are very exciting.
2. Check out the iconic landscape of Tiger Jumping Stone, the giant waves in the heart of the river and the “one line of sky”.
3. Mountain photography: Under the morning light or sunset, the canyon is shrouded in clouds and fog, perfect for shooting blockbusters.

Attraction tips:
1. Wear comfortable non-slip hiking shoes, the Tiger Leap Gorge trail is slippery and steps, moderate difficulty, the elderly and children to pay special attention to safety.
2. The canyon is windy, the temperature difference between morning and evening is large, it is recommended to bring more jackets, when it rains need to prepare rain gear.
3. There are many rocks exposed in the section. Please do not cross the safety fence. The viewing is mainly on the designated platform.
4. Entry time is 08:00-17:30, entry stops at 17:30 at the latest, plenty of time but not recommended to arrive too late.
5. There is no large catering provided in the scenic area, remember to bring your own simple meals or snacks, be careful not to throw garbage.

Notes:
The canyon is ecologically sensitive.
During the peak season, it is recommended to avoid holidays such as May Day and National Day;
Tiger Leap Gorge is steep and has many bends in mountain roads. Driving in heavy fog and rainy season requires special caution;
It is recommended to go together. The mobile phone signal is sometimes unstable.
