If you visit Shangri-La, you can’t miss Songzanlin Monastery – also known as Ganden Sumtseling. This stunning Tibetan Buddhist monastery looks like a castle rising out of the mountains, with golden roofs shining in the sun. 🌞

Built in the 17th century, it’s the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan and home to hundreds of monks. 🧘♂️ Inside, you’ll find colorful prayer flags, giant Buddha statues, and the calming sound of chanting.

Take your time to walk around, spin the prayer wheels, and climb to the upper levels for sweeping views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. 📸 The reflections of the monastery on Lamuyangcuo Lake are perfect for photos!

🐴 Tip: Arrive early in the morning for soft light and fewer crowds. You might also see locals in traditional dress making offerings – it feels very spiritual and authentic.
