Great weekend getaway near Shanghai~
Zhoushan Shengsi Island, two days and one night itinerary
🛵 Cycling route:
Recommended to cycle counterclockwise around the island
1️⃣ Left Bank Road: A very beautiful coastal road with many check-in spots and viewing platforms along the way, perfect for photos. We spent a long time at the swing, enjoying the sea breeze very comfortably.
2️⃣ East China Sea Five Fishing Villages: The beach here is free of charge. The beach is not large but the best part is it’s free.
3️⃣ Bianjiao Village: A very Japanese-style and beautiful small village with clean color tones, a macaron-colored village that feels like a dream back to Hokkaido.
4️⃣ Jihu Beach: Entrance fee is 60 yuan. The beach is quite clean, and walking barefoot by the sea is very comfortable. There is a notice at the entrance warning about possible jellyfish or similar creatures, so we didn’t dare to go too deep into the sea. There is a bonfire party around 7:15 PM, but the cost performance is average, not highly recommended.
5️⃣ Liuhe Scenic Area: Suitable for watching the sunrise, entrance ticket required.
6️⃣ The bridge next to Xiaocaiyuan Passenger Station is very beautiful. Navigate to Bihai Road and Xiaocaiyuan Passenger Station to pass by that bridge (featured in the first picture).
Food:
1️⃣ Huazhu·Shengsi Nanfengli Homestay (about 100 yuan per person)
The owner’s wife cooks amazingly well. We ordered food immediately after checking in.
(The shop sign says reservations should be made two hours in advance, and some ingredients might be unavailable. We ordered seafood that was currently available in the shop🦞)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-star recommendation:
Winter melon shrimp soup, salt and pepper mantis shrimp, braised small yellow croaker
Everything they serve is delicious!!
2️⃣ Leduo Noodle House (about 50 yuan per person)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-star recommendation:
Salt and pepper dragon head fish
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Four-star recommendation:
Teppanyaki seafood noodle dumplings
3️⃣ Teacher Hou’s Shop (about 50 yuan per person)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Four-star recommendation:
Scallion oil clams, white crab rice cakes
4️⃣ Diaodian·Coffee Bar (about 50 yuan per person)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Three-star recommendation
Indoor and outdoor seating available, suitable for resting and having a drink. The drinks are neither good nor bad, not very cost-effective, not highly recommended.
⚠️ Notes:
• From the pier to the county/town accommodation area:
🚕 Taxi: There are taxis waiting at the pier exit (metered fare, about 50 yuan to the county, about 60 yuan to Jihu Beach/Nanchangtu Beach).
🚌 Tourist bus: 10 yuan per person, no distinction of destination (make sure to check your accommodation location in advance)
🛵 Electric scooter: We bought a 49.9 yuan two-day Hello electric scooter pass, but a warning—this scooter cannot be ridden to the pier, or a 40 yuan dispatch fee will be charged!!
‼️ If taking the bus from the county to the pier, be sure to pay attention to the bus schedule. If you miss one bus, the next one might be an hour later. Plan your time in advance to avoid missing the ferry!!
