Visit to the Northern palace.

Mukden Palace, or Shenyang Imperial Palace, was the former palace of the Later Jin dynasty and the early Qing dynasty. It was built in 1625, and the first three Qing emperors lived there from 1625 to 1644. This is a true gem and although not so big as the forbidden city it is less crowded and the traditional clothing is absolutely stunning. The entrance is very reasonable and just wandering around the palace is worthwhile. It is truly like a step back in time.
