Located very close to the Luohu Port, Donghu Park is just a ten-minute walk from the subway station. It is the oldest and most well-equipped municipal park in Shenzhen. The park is open for free and offers not only natural scenery but also an artificial lake, a flower and tree garden, a bird area, and more. It takes more than half a day to walk through the entire park. This time, we focus on the dam scenery within the park. The most convenient way to reach it is from the west gate. Follow the signs and stairs straight up to the dam viewing platform of the Shenzhen Reservoir, where the water surface is as smooth as a mirror, perfect for taking photos. You can also walk along the nearby road to the Red House/Huating, and continue to the Shenzhen Art Museum and the South Gate Cultural Square before returning. The walk is not too strenuous.
