Gankeng is an ancient town in Shenzhen, China.
It has been preserved and developed into a pedestrian street, shopping area, with many restaurants, snack shops, and souvenir shops, blending both traditional and modern elements perfectly.
Another thing we saw a lot was Chinese teenagers dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, taking pictures at various spots, which looked very cute. I wanted to dress up too, but it was already dark by then. It takes about 1 hour to travel from the city, which is quite far.
I recommend going in the late afternoon to evening. The whole town will be decorated with colorful lights, allowing you to take pictures both during daylight and with the lantern lights.
