Time Travel Vibes at Uplistsikhe Cave Town

#summervacay Uplistsikhe in Goris Raioni, Shida Kartli is seriously one of the coolest places I’ve been to in Georgia. It's this ancient cave town carved into a rock cliff, and walking around there felt like stepping into some kind of lost world. There’s no flashy signs or fences, just raw stone pathways, little cave rooms, old tunnels, and epic views of the valley.

Climbing around was actually pretty fun, kind of like exploring a giant natural playground with history vibes. There’s even an old theater area and a basilica right on top. I loved just wandering without a strict route, finding random nooks and crannies everywhere.

The rocks get super hot under the sun though, so I’d definitely say go earlier in the day and bring water. Not much shade around. But honestly, it was worth every dusty step. It’s wild to think people actually lived there thousands of years ago. Uplistsikhe is underrated but absolutely fascinating. Total must-see if you're nearby.
