Behind the Shenpu Gorge
Every summer, I go to Shenpu Gorge in Shifang with my parents and neighbors by car. It's very cool in the mountains during summer, and you can also go rafting in the adjacent Hongxia Valley. It's a great place around Chengdu for escaping the summer heat. I've been to Shenpu Gorge several times, but I didn't know it had a back mountain. Tourists usually play in the front mountain, and the hiking intensity of the back mountain is relatively high.
Hiking Guide
Navigation: Shenpu Gorge Back Mountain Gate Parking Lot
Ticket: 20, walk forward a few hundred meters after entering the main gate, and you can see the hiking trail of the back mountain on the right
Time: The entire loop hiking time is about 5 hours, and you don't need to return the same way. The endpoint can reach the glass walkway, and then you can take the scenic area's van for 10 yuan back to the back mountain gate parking lot
Pets are allowed, and it's also fine for children, but you need to bring your own snacks and simple meals.
Photography Suggestions:
I personally think that overcast and foggy days are more suitable for taking photos. When I went there, there was fog in the mountains and occasional light rain. At the beginning, there were tall pine forests with ferns growing on the ground. When you climb near the top of the mountain, you can see rhododendrons, both white and pink, blooming all over the trees! There are bamboo forests and a red maple forest on the way down.
