"Net Hanging Rock" (あみかけいわ)
📍What is the origin?
- Located on the coast near Cape Mudo, Kochi Prefecture, is a giant rock with a naturally formed “net-like crack” that looks like it was hung by a fishing net (hence the name “Net-hanging Rock”).
- Legend has it that it was a place where fishermen worshiped gods in ancient times. They think this stone has aura and blesses safety at sea ~ (Believe it or not😎)
🚗 How to get there?
It is best to take a self-drive tour like we did
or:
1. Take a bus to Kochi "Muroto World Geopark"
2. Follow the coast and find a boulder that is "cracked like a turtle shell" is!
(Tip: You have to watch the tide. You can see the full picture only when the tide is low!)
This attraction is super small but very feel, suitable for those of you who like to discover quirky secrets. However, it may be disappointing if the expectation is “super spectacular” – after all, it’s really just a… cracked stone😌
Mark it down if you want to go, next time you can pretend to be an in-depth trip on your next trip to four countries ~✌🏻
