The Bizarre Karst Limestone Landscape: Yunnan Stone Forest Scenic Area

Yunnan's landscape is full of wonders, and the 'Stone Forest' is a particularly unique example. Located in the Yi Autonomous Region of Yunnan, the Stone Forest Scenic Area is composed of various karst limestone formations. Entering the forest feels like stepping into a labyrinth, with some formations resembling sharp swords piercing the sky, some like towering pillars, and others like ancient pagodas standing in clusters. It is exceptionally magnificent and peculiar, earning the title of the world's most extraordinary spectacle.

The Stone Forest Scenic Area can be roughly divided into three tour areas: the Large Stone Forest, the Small Stone Forest, and the Outer Stone Forest. The Large Stone Forest Scenic Area also features a Stone Forest Lake, where several stone peaks in the lake resemble maidens emerging from a bath, which is quite unique. In short, to appreciate the Stone Forest, one needs to unleash their wild imagination!

Famous attractions within the scenic area include Lotus Peak, Sword Peak Pool, Wangfeng Pavilion, Stone Forest Lake, Mother and Child Traveling Together, and the Eternal Ganoderma. While visiting the Stone Forest, you can also head to the Dadieshui Waterfall in the southwest of Lunan City to enjoy the picturesque scenery of Yunnan's lakes and mountains.
