Introducing Ryosenji Temple in Shimoda, also known as the Jasmine Temple. 🍀
It is called Jasmine Temple because about 1,000 American jasmine plants bloom in spring. ✨
I'd like to go when the jasmine flowers are in bloom. ❁*.
Jasmine viewing season: mid-May to end of May
Ryosenji Temple is a historic place where the Treaty of Peace and Amity between the United States and Japan was signed. ✨
In the temple grounds, there are documents that tell the story of the time of Perry's arrival, as well as a beautiful garden, so you can enjoy history and nature at the same time. 🍀
On the premises, there is the Black Ship Museum. Mobs'
There are also exhibits of materials related to the arrival of the Black Ships and intercultural exchange at the end of the Edo period 🙌
There is also a souvenir shop, so be sure to check it out ✨
A must-visit temple for history buffs!!
A must-visit temple for plant lovers too 🤍
