This shrine boasts an impressive 2,400-year history, making it the oldest shrine in Izu.
If you're traveling by local bus 🚌, get off at the Tokai Bus stop 🚏 "Shirahama Shrine Station," and you'll find the shrine's entrance facing the road. The shrine grounds are serene, and the main hall exudes a solemn atmosphere. Walking from the right side of the Shirahama Shrine grounds towards the beach, you'll arrive at a stunning coastline. The beauty of the torii gate is breathtaking even from a distance. On sunny days, the contrast of the shrine's torii gate ⛩️, the blue sea 🌊, the sky, and the white sandy beach is particularly striking, so be sure to visit. The rock where the torii gate stands is called Daimyojin Rock, and you can climb and walk up to the torii gate.
The shrine is also known as a power spot for matchmaking.
