Shirahama Shrine in Shimoda City has a spectacular torii gate standing on a huge rock.

The main shrine is surrounded by trees, and you can reach the torii gate by walking towards the sea from there.

A spectacular spot where the red torii gate stands out against Shimoda's clear blue sea and blue sky!

It is very popular in midsummer and there are so many tourists that you can't find a parking space, but it is recommended in midwinter, as there are no people at all.

Parking: Free for visitors for up to 30 minutes (6 cars)
