[Shizuoka Prefecture/Ikonahime Shrine] The oldest shrine in Izu and Shirahama Beach

Ikonahime Shrine
It is commonly known as Shirahama Shrine!

The main deity is Ikonahime, the goddess of love, wisdom and beauty.
The consort of Ikonahime is Mishima Daimyojin.
The deity is the same as the deity of Mishima Taisha, the Ichinomiya of Izu Province.
Cross the scarlet bridge to enter the sacred area!

The worship hall is straight ahead,
and the main hall is a further walk from there!
The closer you get to the main hall, the more beautiful the light shines in,
creating a wonderful atmosphere.
It's definitely worth walking all the way to the main hall.

And,
don't forget to visit the Daimyojin Rock on Shirahama Beach.

When you leave the shrine parking lot and head out onto the beach,
you'll see white sand, huge rocks, scarlet torii gates and clear emerald green sea.
You can see the Izu Seven Islands a little further away.

It was Mishima Daimyojin who created the islands off the coast of Izu, and on each island there are queens and children, and this torii gate was built for distant worship.
