Shirahama Senjyiki

Senjojiki means one thousand tatami mats stacked together, and is a bedrock formed by sandstone from the Neogene period. Since sandstone is formed by solidification of sand, it is eroded by waves to form a complex and unique landscape. Senjojiki is a huge rock platform with the blue sea as its background.

Senjojiki is located in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture. About 20 minutes by car from JR Shirahama Station. There is free parking, which is more suitable for self-driving tours.

Address: 2927-72 Shirahama-cho, Nishimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture
