Shizuishan City is a prefecture-level city in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is located in the northern part of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, bordered by Inner Mongolia on the east, north, and west, and adjacent to Yinchuan City in the south. The surging Yellow River waters to the east and the towering Helan Mountains to the west, the city is named for the protruding rocks at the intersection of the Helan Mountains and the Yellow River that resemble a mouth.
