Utsunotani Pass is located on the edge of Shizuoka City.
To get over there, there is an old road called Tsuta no Hosomichi, which is said to have been used since the Nara period.
The name is even mentioned in the famous Tales of Ise!
Toyotomi Hideyoshi also walked along this road, and presented his haori coat to a family in the town of Utsunotani.
As a result, the place is now named Ohaoya (Haori Shop).
It is now a hiking trail, and on weekends you can see a few people hiking here and there 🏃➡️
There aren't many people here, so it's a hidden hiking spot!
On the way back from your hike, we recommend enjoying the old-fashioned townscape of Utsunotani 😚
There is also the brick Meiji Tunnel, which is sometimes used for filming in TV dramas!
Please explore it ~
