Shizuoka: A Healing Journey in Nature with Mount Fuji

Shizuoka is one of the best places to experience Japan's natural beauty. Its proximity to Tokyo, combined with a much more tranquil and relaxed atmosphere, makes it truly charming.

The first stop on my trip was **Miho no Matsubara (三保の松原)**. The sight of the pine forest stretching along the beach with Mount Fuji standing tall in the background was absolutely breathtaking. Walking amidst the sound of waves and the sea breeze brought a sense of peace to my mind.

Next, I visited **Lake Motosu (本栖湖)**, one of the Fuji Five Lakes. The water was exceptionally clear and calm, allowing me to see the reflection of Mount Fuji, known as "Sakasa Fuji" (upside-down Fuji), on the lake's surface. It was an emotional moment to witness the scenery depicted on the 1,000-yen bill come to life before my eyes. Many people were camping or kayaking, and it was a place where you could spend the entire day without getting bored.

I also visited the Shizuoka tea fields, where the endless green tea plantations with Mount Fuji in the background created a stunning view. The freshly brewed warm green tea I had there was rich and smooth, on a completely different level from what I usually drink.

With some extra time, I ventured down to the Izu Peninsula, where the coastal scenery and hot springs left a lasting impression. The Atami Onsen, enjoyed with a view of the sea, was the perfect way to wash away the fatigue of the trip and provided ultimate relaxation.

Shizuoka is a place where you can enjoy all the charms of nature, from mountains, seas, and lakes to tea fields and hot springs, without the crowds. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend a leisurely time admiring Mount Fuji from various angles.
