One must always go to Yangming Mountain to see the azaleas at least once

Yangming Mountain National Forest Park is located in Shuangpai County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, situated on a branch of the Nanling Mountains, belonging to the mid-subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, with the highest peak at 1624.6 meters (Wangfo Platform). The forest coverage rate reaches 98%, and the total area is 11,733.33 hectares.
Yangming Mountain has been recognized by the Shanghai Guinness Headquarters as 'China's largest wild azalea base,' with an azalea forest area of 100,000 mu. Common varieties include Rhododendron simsii, Rhododendron dilatatum, and Rhododendron mariesii, especially a nearly 10-hectare area of Rhododendron mariesii below Weibo Platform that is astonishing. Around May each year, the azaleas all over the mountains bloom in competition, forming a spectacular sea of flowers, known as 'the world's number one azalea red.'
