Beng Mealea Ruins

Often referred to as the "Eastern Angkor Wat" due to its similar size and structure, Beng Mealea is a fascinating site to explore. 🌳🪨

This temple was engulfed by the forest after the fall of the Khmer Empire, leading to its structures being overtaken by vegetation and gradually collapsing. Today, it remains open to the public in its original state, allowing visitors to walk along wooden pathways set amidst the rubble. 🌳

The sight of the temple buried under massive trees is said to evoke the imagery of the famous animated film "Castle in the Sky" (Laputa), making it a popular destination. ✨
