Singburi Museum, a contemporary museum in the city of Singburi

#VisitMuseum

Did you know!! Singburi now has a museum? The Singburi Provincial Hall (the original building) built since R.S. 130 or B.E. 2454, which was a single-storey building in bright mustard yellow, colonial-style architecture, has been transformed into a new museum of Singburi with a cool, contemporary name: "Singburi Museum", a collaboration between the Singburi Provincial Administrative Organization and the National Learning Museum Institute (Museum Siam).

Singburi Museum is considered a new cultural learning center in the central region. There is a permanent exhibition "Singburi Treasures" in a modern style of light, color, sound, and multimedia in the style of the Siam Museum, adding flavor to the viewing and learning of history, adding interest and various gimmicks for young visitors. It consists of 8 rooms:
🔸Ancient Treasures With a large amount of evidence confirming the importance of Singburi since thousands of years before history
🔸Old City Treasures Singburi was a vassal city of Ayutthaya. Indicates the importance of being close to the center of power in that era.

🔸 Soil assets: In the past, Singburi was an industrial city producing pottery containers. Its unique feature was the "four-eared jar", which was a popular container 400 years ago.

🔸 Destroyed assets: The fall of Ayutthaya caused Singburi to collapse along with Ayutthaya.

🔸 Memorable assets: The triplet cities "Singha, Indra, and Brahma" were combined to form Singburi during the reign of King Rama V. It was a city where many kings of the Chakri Dynasty visited.

🔸 Singburi assets: "Good city, good people, good things" This room is a collection of assets in Singburi, such as the diversity of people, culture, beliefs, and food.

🔸 Wisdom assets: "Singburi Model" was invented a thousand years ago to control water during the dry season and prevent flooding during the flood season using spider web canals. It is considered a long-standing wisdom asset.

🔸 Future assets: "Singburi in a dream" with a game to test sustainable urban design that can cope with future changes and volatility. With everyone's imagination

It takes about 1 hour to walk through all 8 exhibition rooms. You will gain both knowledge and fun. Don't forget to take a photo with the old building from R.S. 130 as a souvenir before going home.
