#favouriteitinerary #travelanywhere One of our favorite ways to spend a leisurely day in Singapore is by exploring the city on foot, taking in the sights, enjoying good food, and ending the day with a spectacular light show by the bay.
Morning: Aerial Views at Capitaspring Sky Garden
We began our day by taking the train to Raffles Place MRT, followed by a short walk to Capitaspring, a sleek skyscraper nestled in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District. Our main highlight was the 1-Arden Sky Garden on the 51st floor, which offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the city skyline. Access is free, but a time slot must be booked in advance via their website. The lush rooftop garden was a tranquil retreat, providing a refreshing contrast to the bustling streets below.
Lunch Picnic at Raffles Place Park
With many dining options nearby, we opted for a takeaway meal. We picked up a mentaiko rice bowl and a sandwich, accompanied by matcha and taro lattes from Whiskdom at One Raffles Place. Instead of dining indoors, we had a small picnic on a bench at Raffles Place Park. The weather was perfect—sunny yet pleasantly cool, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy our meal.
Afternoon Stroll and Acai Indulgence
After lunch, we strolled towards Esplanade Mall, where we stopped by The Berry Spot for some refreshing acai bowls. What we love about this place is their unlimited toppings, allowing us to customize our bowls just the way we like them. The only difference in pricing is based on the cup size, making it a great value-for-money treat.
Early Dinner at Lau Pa Sat
As the afternoon wore on, we continued our walk around the downtown area, eventually making our way to Lau Pa Sat for an early dinner. This iconic hawker centre, housed in a historic cast-iron structure, offers a diverse range of local delights. We went for a comforting plate of masala thosai from an Indian stall—crispy, flavorful, and paired with delicious chutneys and sambar.
Evening Spectacle at Marina Bay
Before 8 PM, we headed towards the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, just outside Marina Bay Sands, to catch the Spectra light and water show. This dazzling performance, which combines water jets, laser projections, and orchestral music, takes place daily at 8 PM and lasts for about 15 minutes till 9-10pm. Watching the city lights shimmer against the night sky was the perfect way to conclude our day.
A simple yet fulfilling Saturday spent wandering through Singapore’s vibrant cityscape, discovering new sights, and indulging in good food—this itinerary remains one of our favorites.
