First-time Singapore Trip Review

First-time Singapore Trip Review – A small but super cool country!
Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to share a casual review of my Singapore trip as an ordinary traveler.
I planned the trip myself, a bit confused at times, made some mistakes, but it was full of great memories and laughter. I’ll tell you all in a conversational style, like chatting with friends. Don’t expect a professional review,
but I guarantee after reading, you’ll want to pack your bags and go for sure.

It all started with a desire to change my life’s atmosphere.
Having lived in Thailand for a long time, I began to feel like I wanted to seek new experiences.
I decided to plan a trip myself and happened to find a cute deal on tickets to Singapore.
So, I teamed up with a close friend and booked without much thought because I thought,
“Hey, Singapore is so close, it can’t be that hard.”
And honestly, it wasn’t hard at all, but there were plenty of funny moments along the way.

Travel day – From Thai airport to the land of the Merlion!
We arrived at Changi Airport early in the morning, and the moment we stepped in, we were wowed immediately.
What kind of airport looks this amazing? It’s like a hub of everything—shopping malls, gardens, waterfalls, cafes, and so much more.
Just walking around The Jewel alone was tiring from all the photo-taking.
The indoor waterfall is absolutely spectacular!! I stood staring for 10 minutes and still felt like moving in right there. Like, this is my new home.

Day one – Merlion, I’m here to see you!
After checking into the hotel (a small, cute hotel with super clean rooms but a bit cramped—had to tilt my head to brush my teeth, haha), we headed out immediately.
Our first stop was Merlion Park.
Seeing the Merlion spouting water right in front of us was like, “Wow… we really made it.” We took photos without any shame—selfies, friend’s camera, even pretending to catch the water in our mouths. Some even sprayed water on their friends’ heads, and we couldn’t stop laughing. The view of Marina Bay Sands from there was stunning.
Walking along the bay was amazing, with cool breezes and a beautiful evening view that made life feel 300% better.

Day two – Nature trip that felt like stepping into a sci-fi movie
We spent the whole day at Gardens by the Bay, and I must say it was totally worth it.
It’s really huge and truly beautiful! The Supertree Grove, as they call it, was like, “Wow… they’re this big?”
No matter where you take photos, you look like a model for National Geographic (though my face was still just me, haha).
Walking into the Flower Dome felt amazing—cool and refreshing with colorful flowers, like being at a Disney princess wedding. The Cloud Forest was even more wow-worthy, with a waterfall so tall I had to crane my neck until it almost hurt, haha.
There was mist and trees on a simulated mountain, giving a slightly magical vibe without being over the top.
In the evening, we didn’t miss the Garden Rhapsody light and sound show.
Classical music played while lights danced on the trees in rhythm.
The moment the music started, I almost cried. It was a high-quality, romantic show (though I was still with friends, haha).

Day three – USS, a day full of chaos and screams
This was the highlight of the trip—Universal Studios Singapore.
We planned to try every ride (but didn’t finish because we spent too much time screaming and eating).
As soon as we entered, we ran straight to Battlestar Galactica, a roller coaster with two tracks. We chose the most intense one first for the challenge.
I screamed from start to finish, and my friend next to me grabbed my arm so hard it left marks.
I couldn’t be mad because I was screaming nonstop too.
The Far Far Away zone from Shrek was super cute, with a castle just like in the cartoon. The 4D ride was fun, with light sprays, wind, and surprise rocking seats. Then we stopped by Jurassic Park for a river raft ride that soaked us without mercy, but we laughed until tears came.
Food inside was a bit pricey, but you have to try it. The giant chicken drumstick we bought during a break needed two hands to hold and biting it made me feel like a titan.
We ate until full and still had leftovers, like “Anyone want to share…?”

Day four – Souvenir mode and spiritual vibes
On the last day before heading back, we planned to go to Bugis Street for souvenir shopping, and wow, my bag was about to burst with so many things! Keychains, magnets, snacks, food, daily items, T-shirts with “I Love SG” printed on them.
I bought without thinking, and when paying, I was like, “Hey, will I have enough money?”
Then we went to the Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown to pray and quietly rest our minds. The temple was truly beautiful, very well organized, and peaceful inside.
It was a moment of “Please keep me safe on my journey, please make my life better.”
Though tired, my heart was full.
Back at the hotel, we stuffed our bags (because they were too full) and headed back to Thailand.

Summary: Singapore is truly a country for everyone.
For anyone hesitating whether to go or not, I want to shout, “Just go!”
Singapore is clean, safe, easy to get around, technologically advanced, and the people are lovely, not snobby at all. Traveling by MRT is the best—super easy to understand without much thinking, with clear signs everywhere.
The food is diverse, from Chinese, Malay, Indian to fusion. There are many cute cafes, and the milk tea is delicious (though a bit pricey, haha).

What I gained from this trip:
– Learned to plan on my own
– Realized getting lost isn’t a bad thing
– Met people from different cultures
– Laughed with friends until our stomachs hurt
– And most importantly… realized there’s so much more of the world to explore

For those who have never traveled abroad, I recommend starting with Singapore. It’s a perfect first country for beginners—easy to travel and fun without much effort.

I will definitely go back again
because Singapore made me realize… true happiness doesn’t have to be big.
Just stepping out to see the world makes me smile.
P.S. If you’ve read this far, thank you for reading! Hope you get a great ticket deal soon!
