At Haw Par Villa, the statues of a kangaroo, ostrich, gorilla, and koala create a quirky corner that feels like a playful blend of cultures and creatures. Each animal is sculpted with exaggerated charm, the kangaroo mid-hop, the ostrich tall and proud, the gorilla exuding strength, and the koala clinging with gentle innocence. Through my lens, they became more than stone figures; they turned into characters of a whimsical zoo, adding surprise and humor to the villa’s storytelling. Photographing them was pure fun, a reminder of how art can mix education, fantasy, and delight in one eclectic scene.
