🌊 Cruising with a Baby on Ovation of the Seas: Our First Family Adventure 👶🛳️

Here’s our experience sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas with our baby — who’s not even one year old yet!

🧳 Boarding Process

We arrived at the terminal three hours before departure, checked in our large luggage, and only brought essentials like the stroller, bottles, and formula. The boarding process was incredibly smooth — the staff noticed we had a baby and kindly guided us through the fast track. We barely had to wait in line at all!

🚪 Cabin Arrangement

Our cabin was located near the front of the ship, right next to the elevator — super convenient! The room keys were placed in the mail rack by the door, printed with our names, so no mix-ups. Everything was clean, tidy, and baby-friendly.

🚢 Onboard Facilities

After boarding, we attended the mandatory safety briefing and were free to explore. Decks 4 and 5 are open public areas — clean, spacious, and perfect for little ones to crawl and explore.
The main theater 🎭 is at the bow, and the main dining room 🍽️ is at the stern. Dinner is served at assigned tables with the same waiter each night. They always had a highchair ready for our baby — such thoughtful service!
However, most of the food onboard isn’t suitable for babies (too salty, cold, or tough), so I highly recommend bringing your own baby food or noodles — the staff will gladly help with hot water.
The buffet and snack bars are open throughout the day, so there’s always something to eat.

🎡 Entertainment & Activities

The ship is packed with entertainment options, but since our baby sleeps before 8 p.m., we didn’t make it to any evening shows.
⚠️ Note: Babies under 3 years old aren’t allowed in the main swimming pools due to hygiene rules, but there is a small outdoor splash pool for babies!
Of course, activities like the gym, rock climbing, and bumper cars were off the table this trip — the joys of parenthood! 😅

🎨 Other Experiences

During nap time on the last two days, I joined the onboard art auction and actually won a painting! 🖼️ Plus, I got two extra pieces for answering trivia questions enthusiastically — definitely a fun surprise!
