Raffles Hotel

Staying at this hotel genuinely made me feel like I, too, could pen a novel, just like many of the notable writers who previously stayed here! Surrounded by classic architecture, there are plenty of nooks and historical details to explore. The location is ideal—extremely central, near the train station, with two car pick-up areas, which made getting a taxi easy even when one area got busy. One highlight was the resident-only history tour, where I met Resident Historian Nazir, who has been with the hotel for a long while. He generously shared stories and showed us a working gramophone (!!) and the hotel's famous antique piano, leaving us with a deeper appreciation for the establishment. My suite felt truly like a home away from home. Although it didn't offer wide city views, the cozy front parlor setup was super inviting, and stepping onto the open balcony, one is greeted by luscious greenery instead of a standard hotel hallway. I was impressed by the butler service and how every team member I encountered always took time for a meaningful conversation, which was truly comforting during my solo trip. I visited the iconic Long Bar for a Singapore Sling, and my butler helped me make a booking to skip the queue! As an art and history enthusiast, I absolutely adore this place and felt so safe and inspired during my stay. I extend my thanks to everyone I met, who made my trip unforgettable. See you again soon. ;)
