Dating back to 1827, this Hindu temple was built by Indian immigrants from Nagapatnam and Cuddalore in southern India. It was also known at that time as the Mariamman Kovil Temple or the 'Kling' Street Temple.

This temple was built to honor the Goddess Mariamman, who is known for her sacred powers in curing illnesses and diseases. #wattosann
