Lisbon Surrounding Tours! Complete Guide from the Ends of the Earth to Ancient Castles!

Transportation: Train Loop

① Cabo da Roca
▪ There are three famous capes in the world: the first is the Cape of Good Hope in southern Africa, the second is Cape Horn in southern Chile, and the third is Cabo da Roca in Portugal!
▪ Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of Portugal and the entire Eurasian continent, so it is called the "Corner of Europe"!
▪ Cabo da Roca is a cliff more than 140 meters above sea level, with strong winds and waves. The cliff edge is fenced with wooden railings about half a person’s height, so be very careful when moving around here.
▪ No matter when you visit Cabo da Roca, remember two things: bring a windbreaker and a hair tie!

② Quinta da Regaleira
▪ The entire estate includes the romantic Regaleira Palace, Regaleira Chapel, and a luxurious garden with lakes, caves, wells, benches, fountains, and many exquisite buildings. You can get a tour brochure at the entrance to roughly browse the layout of the estate!
▪ When you open the brochure, the front side introduces the Regaleira Palace, which is the "The House" part of the estate. The back side shows the whole estate, with the park "The Garden" being the essence of the entire estate. The white boxes marked on the map indicate several distinctive architectural attractions!
▪ The most amazing feature is the "Underground Walkways" marked with a yellow box! The yellow thick line on the map shows the location of the underground tunnels, starting from the courtyard at the top right, with three branches leading to three different scenic spots. These secret tunnels, usually seen only in movies and novels, were cleverly built by the designer in this noble’s home, which must be closely related to the owner’s hobbies and interests!

③ Sintra
▪ Sintra was the first place in the 19th century to gather European Romantic architecture. Ferdinand II unified the mansions built near Sara on the same side of the road, making their views complement the landscapes of parks and gardens, which greatly influenced the development of European landscapes.
▪ As a tourist city, Sintra offers shuttle services. These shuttles are not ordinary buses but colorful, stylish sports cars, vintage cars, go-karts, and sightseeing trains running busily on the main roads, becoming a beautiful scenery line of the city! Along the way, the mosaic-patterned tiles decorating various buildings are also a visual treat!
