Sea Breeze and Spring Sounds: The Day and Night of Sokcho Hot Springs

Located in the coastal town of Sokcho in Gangwon Province, Sokcho Hot Springs turned out to be an unexpected highlight of my trip to South Korea. Although it takes some time to travel from Seoul, the moment I stood outside the hot spring facilities and gazed at the vast East Sea, all the effort felt worthwhile. The spring water here comes from a natural underground saline spring, carrying a subtle oceanic aroma. When soaking, the skin feels slightly smooth, making it perfect for winter skincare.

I chose the open-air pool facing the sea. While soaking, seagulls flew by in the distance, waves crashed against the shore, and the endless expanse of sky and sea stretched before me, as if my heart was being cleansed to transparency. At night, the illuminated hot spring pool exudes tranquility and warmth, ideal for solo travelers to meditate quietly or for couples to cuddle and stargaze. The beauty of Sokcho Hot Springs lies in its seamless blend of nature's grandeur and the gentle comfort of hot springs, making it the most cherished hot spring experience of my journey in South Korea.
