If you’re dreaming of a wild, peaceful stretch of coastline where the sea sparkles, the dunes roll into the horizon, and you can hear nothing but the waves, Son Serra de Marina, in the north of Mallorca, is the place. This isn’t a manicured resort beach - it’s nature in its purest form. #holidayvacation
🌾 What I love most about Son Serra is how uncrowded it feels, even in the middle of summer. Walk a few minutes away from the main entrance and you’ll often find yourself in a spot with only a handful of people around - sometimes no one at all. The landscape is untouched, with golden sand, dunes, and crystal-clear water framed by the distant mountains of the Tramuntana range.
Standing barefoot on the shore, the wind rustling through the sea grass and the salty air filling my lungs, I felt like I’d stepped back to Mallorca before tourism existed.
🌊 The beach stretches on for kilometers, so you can choose between swimming, a long shoreline walk, or simply lying on your towel listening to the wind and waves. On breezier days, small waves roll in - perfect for a little bodyboarding. On calm days, the water turns into a giant turquoise swimming pool.
🍹When you’ve had your fill of sun and sea, head to El Sol, a local beachfront spot with a laid-back surfer vibe. Grab a cold beer, a tinto de verano, or even a plate of fresh seafood while still barefoot in the sand. The hum of soft music, the smell of grilled fish, and the view of the sea make it hard to leave.
✍🏼 Quick Tips for Your Visit:
- About 1 hour from Palma by car (north coast)
- No sunbeds or big hotels: bring your own towel and umbrella
- Slight wind is common: perfect for cooling off in summer
- Walk a bit for more secluded spots away from the main entrance
- Try El Sol for a drink or lunch after your swim
Son Serra de Marina is not just a beach - it’s a reminder that Mallorca still has wild corners where you can feel the island’s natural beauty all to yourself. Come for a swim, stay for the quiet, and leave with the memory of a day that felt timeless.
