Sichuan's Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area: A Masterpiece of Nature, the 'Jade Pool' on Earth.

Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area is located in the northern part of Sichuan Province, in Songpan County of the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, adjacent to Jiuzhaigou. Many visitors to Jiuzhaigou take the opportunity to also visit Huanglong.

Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou were jointly listed as a World Natural Heritage site in 1992. Huanglong is situated at a high altitude, with an average elevation of over 3,000 meters. As the car slowly climbs, one can already feel the effects of altitude sickness.

Despite a slight headache due to the altitude sickness, when one sees the layered colorful pools in Huanglong, it's easy to understand why it's called the 'Jade Pool' on Earth. The crystal-clear waters of the pools change colors with the surrounding scenery and the angle of the sunlight. Visiting in spring, although it's not the high water season and some pools have low water levels, the beauty of the snow-capped mountains is still striking under the sunlight, making it even more dazzling and enchanting, like a fairyland on Earth.
