In Lishui's Songzhuang Village, I found a real-life "Peach Blossom Spring"! This homestay called "Taoye" is hidden in an ancient village rated by National Geographic as "The Last Secret Realm of Jiangnan." Open the window to babbling streams, look up to emerald bamboo-covered mountains—it instantly cured my urban anxiety!
✨ Living in the Scenery
The homestay is renovated from old houses, with rammed earth walls and wooden beams preserving the charm of the original village, while the interiors feature minimalist, healing wabi-sabi style. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the mountain views and streams like natural oil paintings. My favorite moment is sitting on the terrace at dusk, watching villagers herd ducks across the arched bridge—time seems to slow down.
🍶 Plum Wine + Cultural Creativity, a Soul-Stirring Combo!
Upon entering, you'll see adorable cultural creations, all collaboratively made with local villagers—so heartwarming! The homestay's plum wine is absolutely divine—a must-try!
📸 Photo Spots
1️⃣ Arched Bridge Check-in: The same spot featured in National Geographic, most magical at dawn with mist!
2️⃣ Riverside Tea Setup: The homestay provides free tea sets—brew a pot of Longquan tea while listening to the flowing water for ultimate vibes.
3️⃣ Cultural Wall: Use villagers' handicrafts as props for artsy shots.
💡 Tips
▫️Transport: Self-driving recommended; 3.5 hours direct from Hangzhou with parking at the village entrance.
▫️Perfect for summer family trips—the stream right outside makes parenting effortless.
This is probably the ideal life—waking to birdsong at dawn, sleeping under starlight at night. If you crave an escape from the hustle, Taoye is truly worth it!
