Northern Europe: A Journey Through Frozen Beauty

Sailing through Geirangerfjord felt like entering a fairytale. This UNESCO World Heritage fjord is surrounded by towering cliffs, waterfalls cascading down the mountains, and tiny farms perched high above the water. I took a fjord cruise, and the famous “Seven Sisters” waterfall was absolutely mesmerizing – seven streams flowing side by side, creating misty rainbows in the sunlight. Another highlight was Eagle Road, a winding mountain road with jaw-dropping viewpoints over the fjord. I also hiked to Skageflå, an abandoned mountain farm with incredible panoramas. The air here was crisp and pure, and everywhere I turned, the scenery looked like a painting. Geiranger is not just about nature though – the small village at the fjord’s end is charming, with cozy cafés, souvenir shops, and friendly locals. I even tried homemade Norwegian waffles with jam – so good! If there’s one place in Norway that made me feel tiny compared to nature’s greatness, it’s Geirangerfjord. Truly a bucket-list destination.
