The tranquility and healing moments I experienced at Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan.

Located in the heart of Taiwan, in Nantou County, Sun Moon Lake is a breathtaking destination. When I first visited, I was captivated by the emerald green lake and the surrounding mountain scenery. The moment when the morning mist gently drapes over the calm lake surface felt truly mystical, as if all the noise in my heart had quietly faded away.

🚴♀️ Cycling Around the Lake

At Sun Moon Lake, you can cycle around the lake. The experience of riding while feeling the breeze and listening to the chirping of birds is more than just sightseeing—it's an immersion into nature. The soft morning light made the experience even more magical.

🚤 A Different View from a Cruise

Several small boats traverse the lake, connecting the ports. From the boat, you can appreciate the lake's beauty from a different perspective. The sparkling water surface felt as if time had come to a standstill.

🏯 The Serenity of Wenwu Temple

Located on a hill on the northern side, Wenwu Temple is a striking site with its vivid red architecture. The view overlooking the lake is stunning, making you want to take a deep breath. Despite the number of tourists, the atmosphere remained surprisingly calm and serene.

🛶 Relaxing at Lakeside Hotels

Sun Moon Lake is dotted with hotels and hot spring inns offering lake views. Enjoying breakfast on the terrace while gazing at the lake felt like the ultimate luxury. Doing nothing at all turned out to be the best form of relaxation.

🚗 Access

It takes about an hour and a half by bus from Taichung Station. You can also easily reach it by taking a Nantou Bus from the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Taichung Station. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely day trip.

Sun Moon Lake is a place where you can feel the 'quiet beauty' of Taiwan. Despite being a tourist destination, it offers a sense of calm that allows you to reflect on yourself. I look forward to visiting again in a different season.
