The best value Marriott hotel on the entire network.

During my archaeological trip in Indonesia, I found that the hotels over 12 days were all quite good, but the itinerary was too rushed to fully enjoy most of the hotel services. On the day in Surabaya, I purposely set aside time to stay at the JW Marriott.

Location
Located in the city center of Surabaya, the location is excellent! Surrounded by malls and restaurants, everything you need is available. Upon arrival at the hotel, I immediately felt the full five-star treatment.

Room
The moment I entered the room, I was like "Wow!" There was even a personalized card with a greeting, which was very thoughtful! The sense of ceremony was overwhelming!

Facilities
The pool is not large, but the gym is fully equipped and the environment is especially clean. After working out, you can also enjoy the hotel's spa!

Service
Throughout the stay, the hotel service was very attentive. The staff were very professional and polite, whether at the front desk, housekeeping, or restaurant employees, I couldn’t help but tip them.

Dining
The hotel breakfast had a super rich variety! I especially liked their made-to-order omelets and Indonesian-style snacks, which tasted very authentic!

The location is in the old city center, about a 10-minute walk to the second largest mall, Tunjungan Plaza. There are also many small shops nearby, especially four convenience stores. Everyone’s service attitude was very good, and basically, the front desk staff spoke English without any problem.

The breakfast restaurant looks like a newly renovated space, somewhat like a glass greenhouse, which is quite nice. The options are also numerous, including made-to-order gado gado, Indonesian fried rice, French toast, Indian pancakes, and various juices and coffees. The experience was quite good.
