Take a boat trip along the hundreds of canals, the charm of life along the Tapi River📍

If anyone comes to Surat Thani and has time, or while waiting to board the boat to Koh Phangan, I would like to invite you to take a boat trip to see the Tapi River. We got on the boat at the City Pillar Shrine to take a boat to Khlong Roi Sai to see the way of life of the Bang Bai Mai community who live along the Tapi River. Both sides of the canal are still densely covered with nipa palms which can be used in many ways. The boat driver provided good service, was very patient and explained the whole route, with pride in the community and a passion for service. Every word that came out of his mouth was accompanied by a smile throughout the story. There was a demonstration of how to make a nipa roof, make baskets from nipa palm leaves, and fold a carp from nipa palm leaves. The scenery along the way was like going back in time, which is hard to find these days.

We chartered a boat for 300 baht, which could seat no more than 6 people. Life jackets were provided. I was very impressed. I would like to invite you to come and experience the atmosphere once and you will know that Surat Thani Province really has many more good things.
