Dongfeng Bicycle Path - Tunnel No. 9 & Dajia River Bridge

Location: Next to No. 50, Lane 2, Lane 260, Puzi Street, Fengyuan District, Taichung City

Introduction: Dajia River Iron Bridge, commonly known as Dajia River Hualiang Steel Bridge, is a railway bridge on the old mountain line of Taiwan Railway. It belongs to the Houli-Huludun (now Fengyuan Station) section completed on April 10, 1908. It crosses the middle reaches of Dajia River and was a very important north-south connecting bridge of the original longitudinal railway. After the Houli-Fengyuan section of the Old Mountain Line was discontinued on October 8, 1997, it was planned to be part of the Houfeng Railway and was announced as a historical building on February 6, 2004. It is one of the few remaining steel truss bridges in Taiwan.
Tunnel No. 9 was built in 1908 and has a history of 100 years. It is 1,273 meters long and was originally a section of the old mountain line railway tunnel. However, it was abandoned after the completion of the new mountain line.
