🌿 "Taiwan's Relaxing City" Where Art and Nature Coexist | Five Things I Did in Taichung

Taichung is located exactly halfway between Taipei and Kaohsiung.
The mild climate and the art and greenery scattered throughout the city were particularly striking.
Just strolling around the area relaxed my mind, and I felt as if I was slowly becoming more in tune with the city.
Here are five particularly memorable places in Taichung.

1️⃣ Rainbow Village: Surrounded by Color

Rainbow Village is lined with colorful murals painted by veterans.
The colors shining in the sunlight evoke a nostalgic, warm feeling.
It was a small art village that brought a smile to my face just by walking through it.

2️⃣ Sun Moon Lake: Relaxing on the Tranquil Lake

Sun Moon Lake, located just outside the city, is a beautiful place with morning mist.
The shadows of the mountains reflected on the lake's surface and the sounds of boats slowly sailing along were soothing,
and I felt a sense of tranquility, as if time had stopped.

3️⃣ "National Taichung Theater": Architecture of Dancing Light

Within the building's soft curves,
light and shadow unfold like music.
Simply walking through the space brings a mysterious sense of calm.
Taking a short break at a cafe and admiring the architectural beauty was a delight.

4️⃣ "Fengjia Night Market": Enjoying the Night Breeze

As evening approaches, the city is enveloped in a bustling aroma.
As I walked down the street lined with food stalls, the aroma of cheese fries and sweet drinks wafted through the air,
I couldn't help but sample a little at a time.
The night air, filled with the sounds of people's voices and laughter, seemed to energize me for my journey.

5️⃣ "Living Like Home" at a Cafe

Taichung is home to unique cafes.
Surrounded by the scent of wood and soothing music,
simply savoring a cup of coffee was a truly enriching experience.
These cafes are special places to stop by during your travels.

🚄 Access Notes

About an hour by bullet train from Taipei.

You can visit as a day trip, but an overnight stay is perfect if you want to enjoy the night market and stroll around the city.

Easily accessible from Kaohsiung, this cozy city in the heart of Taiwan is a delight.

🌸 Taichung, a place to relax

A city where art, nature, and the kindness of its people blend peacefully.
I think Taichung's charm lies in its ability to experience the rhythm of life, rather than just sightseeing.
