The Tainan Confucius Temple, honored as the 'First Academy of Taiwan,' is the oldest existing Confucius Temple in Taiwan. Built in 1665 and having undergone numerous renovations, it still retains its solemn and majestic atmosphere. Nowadays, the area around the temple is also rich in cultural vibes. After visiting the Confucius Temple, don't rush to leave; make sure to explore the Confucius Temple Shopping District!
Fuzhong Street is the liveliest part of the Confucius Temple Shopping District. This street is filled with unique shops offering everything from cultural and creative designs to authentic local snacks. As you walk down the street, you'll notice a perfect blend of the old and new—century-old houses transformed into creative shops, innovative foods in the market—every step is a delightful surprise.
