This is an area where fabric shops gather.
It's packed with fabric shops.
There are also shops selling felt and other handicraft tools.
I discovered that there is a market in Tainan where fabric shops gather, like Taipei's "Yongle Market," so I came to Ximen Market (West Market).
This market was built of wood in 1905 during the Japanese colonial period, but collapsed a few years later due to a typhoon, so it was rebuilt with reinforced concrete. However, after that, it underwent several renovations and expansions due to damage from war and fires, and in 2003 it was designated as a Tainan City historic site.
It has now become a market where fabric shops and handicraft material stores gather.
A complex shop nearby sells products that are commonly seen in Taiwan. They also sell colorful fabrics, which I purchased.
There is also a gallery on the third floor of the building. Artists, designers, and photographers from various fields exhibit and present their works. (You have to climb a very narrow and steep staircase!!)
