Located on Zhongyi Road in the Central-West District, Hayashi Department Store opened on December 5, 1932. At the time, it was Taiwan's second department store and featured five floors. Inside, you'll find a vintage elevator with floor indicators displayed like a clock. Stepping onto the fifth floor feels like traveling to Japan, as this was the Japanese colonial period, and a Shinto shrine on the rooftop still remains. The floors below showcase food and daily items from Taiwan's 1940s and 1950s, along with nostalgic goods and a variety of modern creative products.
