Jingzijiao Tile Salt Field

#September2025

🏞️ The Jingzaijiao Tile-Paved Salt Pans, located in Tainan City's Beimen District, are the oldest surviving tile-paved salt pan ruins in Taiwan, dating back to the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1818), making them over 200 years old. The salt pans, paved with broken tiles and evaporation pools, create a unique mosaic-like landscape. At sunset, they resemble a "Taiwanese Sky Mirror," reflecting the vibrant light of the sky and making them a popular photography destination.

Although the salt-drying industry ceased in 2002 due to cost constraints, they have been restored and transformed into a tourist salt pan. Visitors can experience the traditional salt drying, picking, and harvesting process, gaining a deeper understanding of Taiwan's salt industry culture and history. This place is not only a place for cultural heritage but also a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset over Beimen Lagoon.
