Qigu Salt Mountain

#September2025

🏔️ Qigu Salt Mountain, located in Qigu District, Tainan City, is Taiwan's largest man-made salt field site, operated by the Taiwan Salt Corporation. Its two main salt mountains reach a height of approximately 20 meters, equivalent to a seven-story building, earning it the nickname "Changbai Mountain of Southern Taiwan." Once a key hub for Taiwan's salt industry, the area was transformed into a tourist park after the salt industry ceased operations in 2002.

In addition to the spectacular salt mountain scenery, the park also features salt sculptures, a salt field experience area, and a salt museum. Visitors can enjoy local specialties like salt popsicles and brine coffee. The pristine white salt mountains shimmer in the sun, and from the observation deck, one can overlook the Qigu Lagoon and coastline, making it a unique landmark that blends salt culture with ecotourism.
