Taijiang National Park, located in Annan and Qigu Districts of Tainan City, is Taiwan's eighth national park and the first to focus on wetland ecology and cultural history. This unique land, once the vast Taijiang Inland Sea, has now silted up, leaving behind unique landscapes such as lagoons, sandbars, and wetlands, nurturing countless precious ecological and historical stories. Taijiang National Park is most notable for its rich wetland ecology, with extensive mangroves, including sedge, olive, and five-pear mangroves, forming a dense "green tunnel." It is also a vital habitat for migratory birds, with thousands arriving from the north each autumn and winter to spend the winter. The most famous of these birds is the Black-faced Spoonbill, a species of internationally protected species. Their graceful presence adds a unique vitality to the wetlands, and Taijiang National Park is committed to the conservation of the Black-faced Spoonbill, making it an internationally renowned birdwatching destination. Taijiang National Park is a complex attraction suitable for family travel, ecological observation and historical exploration. It is not only a park but also a living history and ecology textbook.
