The Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei is a hidden gem for modern art enthusiasts. The current special exhibition 'No Language' features 14 mid-career and emerging artists from Taiwan, exploring how art can evoke intuitive feelings and thoughts through visual, tactile, and experiential means without the intervention of language, challenging the boundaries of communication.
Two of the most notable works are Chen Wan-ren's 'This is Not a Decoy' and Liao Jian-zhong's 'Life's Final Stop 3.0 K-us.' 'This is Not a Decoy' draws inspiration from the colorful signs of city streets, using LED screens to create the illusion of pedestrians and cyclists weaving through, immersing viewers in a bustling urban environment. 'Life's Final Stop 3.0 K-us' transforms household appliances into remote-controlled cars, allowing visitors to interact and experience them firsthand, adding an element of fun and engagement.
This exhibition not only stimulates the senses but also prompts reflection on how 'silent' art can touch the heart. If you have some free time on the weekend, come and slowly experience the art of silence.
