Hidden in the alleys of Taipei, 'Kuang Ying Cafe' is a small shop that makes you want to slow down as soon as you step in. The cozy and elegant decor, along with the colorful Le Creuset tableware, creates a comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for relaxing alone or chatting with friends.
The food here is not only photogenic but also delicious. The signature waffle platter is a visual treat, with fluffy and crispy waffles paired with fresh fruits and a generous dollop of rich whipped cream, making every bite a delight. For the main course, I recommend their braised beef tendon set meal. The beef is tender and flavorful, served with refreshing side dishes and steaming white rice, making it a warm and satisfying Japanese-style meal. Pair it with a cup of hand-brewed coffee or tea, and you can slowly enjoy this healing time.
While dining, you might encounter the two adorable shop cats, 'Kuang Kuang' and 'Ying Ying.' One is elegant and lazy, while the other is lively and curious, often wandering around your feet, making them the most popular furry friends in the shop.
After eating, don't forget to take beautiful photos against the retro-style wall outside the shop or take a walk to the nearby Huashan 1914 Creative Park for a perfect literary day trip.
