Leisurely Half-Day Trip to Beitou

It takes about an hour to travel from Taipei City Center to Beitou by MRT.

Starting from the MRT station, it’s about a 3-minute walk to Beitou Library. The wooden architecture is perfect for taking photos.

Next to it is the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, which introduces the history of the Beitou hot spring area. The museum is two stories high and not very large. Visitors need to take off their shoes to enter. There’s no air conditioning, but there are fans, so it’s not too hot.

After leaving the museum, it’s about a 5-minute walk to Thermal Valley. At the entrance, there’s a hand-shaped hot spring in the shape of Taiwan, with water temperatures around 40°C. Inside, you’ll see a large area of hot spring vents—it’s very hot 🥵. Walking around the valley will make you sweat a lot. There are souvenir shops nearby.

For lunch, head to Shuang Yue Food Club in Beitou. Their soups are highly recommended and made with quality ingredients.

After lunch, visit a nearby hot spring hotel to soak in the hot springs. You can choose between public pools or private rooms. There are plenty of options in the area.
