A library like a hidden gem in the forest

Arriving in Beitou, just outside Taipei, the first thing I encountered was the steam of hot springs and the lush green forest. Walking a little further along the path, the Beitou Museum (北投文物館) appears, seemingly hidden within the forest.

From the outside, it's a quiet Japanese-style wooden building, renovated from an old inn. Stepping through the door, a gentle scent of wood and a calming atmosphere fill the air. The simple tatami rooms, traditional lattice windows, and the ceramics and folk artifacts displayed throughout create the illusion of time travel.

The view from the window was particularly striking. Outside, Beitou's verdant greenery spread out before me, and the sound of leaves swaying in the breeze blended with the tranquility of the exhibition hall, creating a subtle melody. While each exhibit was fascinating to see, the silence and warmth of the space itself left a profound impression.

After my tour, I stopped by a small tea room for a cup of tea. As the warm tea warmed my body and the soft sunlight filtered through the window, I realized this wasn't just a museum, but a place offering a sense of rest.

The Beitou Museum, hidden in the forest, was even more special. Rather than a flashy tourist attraction, it was a perfect setting for a leisurely stroll and a moment of calm.
